April 21, 2015

In class on tuesday were given 30 minutes to make a short trailer using iMovie, I never even knew you could make a trailer on your own so I thought that was fun. It was nice that the app gave you exact directions for each part of the trailer, it made it super easy. That was a nice little assignment to prepare us to make our actual iMovie project. We were also given the assignment of making a tour of up to five places on google earth, another thing I didn't even know was a feature that could be used. I have yet to start on that but the directions seem pretty clear so it seems like the assignment will be fairly easy. We got to mess around with google earth a bit which was helped me get used to the program a little bit.

April 14th, 2015

Exactly one week ago, I was able to finish up my photoshop project and then we began our lesson on how to make videos for our next project. We watched a few intro videos on why the use of videos is important in todays education and how it can make things more interesting. We then got into groups to start coming up with ideas for our own videos which we will make using iMovie. My groups is doing a short video on Western Oregon University and why others should come here, all we have gotten done so far is we have made a plan of all the shoots we will take. I haven't gotten a chance to mess around with iMovie yet so I haven't had a chance to learn the tricks yet.

April 7th, 2015

I have been forgetting to write in my blog so I decided to go back to each day and briefly explain what I learned that day. On tuesday april, 7th exactly two weeks ago we went over Photoshop. This lesson was interesting to me because I have never done anything with photoshop but always wanted to learn the ways of it. We learned how to layer picture over each other so there was only one picture containing different elements. I learned how to erase the backgrounds of the other images to isolate what I wanted, and the most interesting trick I learned was how to add a shadow to my isolated figures to make them seem like the belonged. I made a single collage (my first one on photoshop ever-so I'm pretty proud of it) which had a picture of an elephant that I got from the internet, a picture of me fishing which I got from my phone, and a picture of a cute little kitten I got from the scanner. This project was challenging for me since I had no previous experience with photoshop but it was fun!
